First Week of Adventures in the CCM...

WOW
where do i even begin

So the CCM is so beautiful and the weather is beyond amazing. we have only had like a couple storms and a bunch of cool rainbows. Ah i was so overwhelmed the first four days felt like eternity but seriously i have been having the time of my life here.  I dont understand a whole lot but i am learning as i go. I absolutely love the language.  It has just been a whirlwind of amazingness here.

the first day that we were all here I had to say the prayer in front of the huge group IN SPANISH
ah it was so cool.  I have felt the spirit so much here.
I have been sick for the past week but TODO BIEN we also had an alarm go off that we had to meet on these green dots that are apparently the safe dots ahah

I LOVE MY companera she looks like anna sophia robb and amanda seyfried combined yeah shes amazing.  Hermana Pearson is so wonderful and i absolutely adore her! we get along so well! We have some awesome hermanas en our casa and we are all already so close!!
In the week that i have been here i have grown so much in ways that i didnt even know i could!

I cant believe that i get to wear jesucristo on my heart and i cant believe that i get to be a representative of christ. I touch my nametag constantly to remind myself that this is actually happening and that i have this wonderful honor of being a missionary. It is unreal that i ma actually here.
so much has happened i cant even say it all!

Hermana Pearson and I had our first investigator. Lucy.  Our first lesson in spainsh EVER and it went super well! we wrote notes for about 7 minutes and we had to take up 30 min hahah It was all completely led by the spirit. It was so awesome. we celebrated after. GUYS the church is true.

MY DISTRICT is the best thing ever there are 4 hermanas and 4 elders.  It is a small district but it is totally perfect.  so we had an elder this week in the 2nd day of classes we were in class when elder fullmer had a really bad seizure.  Apparently he had never had one before and it was super scary.  So now he just left for home today. We are all praying for him so that he can go back out in 3 months and we hope that nothing is wrong with him.

The maestros. wow they live to teach at the ccm. they have so much love for this gospel and teaching us misionaros is their life.  This gospel is universal yall. it is for the young and the old. the rich and the poor. This gospel is for todas personas en el mundo!

Seriously love learning about the gospel.  Can i just be a missionary forever.  This is better than any schooling or study abroad i have ever done! we are literally gathering our hermanos and hermanas to come unto christ.

oh yeah sooooo i gave my first talk in spanish on sunday.  Our branch presidente tells us the topic for the week and we are supposed to prepare a talk before because some will be called on that sunday in sacrament. my luck i won yay.  haha but after everyone came up to me and told me that i did super well. everyone is so nice here!

FUNNY STORY
yesterday we had to do a service project with our district.  Hermana Pearson and Hermana Olsen and I had to clean the bathroom in the comedor....THE BOYS BATHROOM haha like we had to clean the urinals and everything on the walls hahaha it was so funny and sooo disgusting.

Anyways if i could leave you with a message this week is to walk by faith and not by sight.

I dont know everything about the gospel but i sure do know that it is true and that we want everyone to be able to experience the happiness that the gospel brings.

I love you so much

This church is true

Let the Adventure Begin...it only took 4 months to get here:)

Lexie left this morning.  She received her call on May 14 and had to wait 4 long months to head out.  We had a great summer, just hanging out, Six Flags, eating out, playing games, visiting with friends and family; she worked at the Temple a ton; she played piano and read scriptures everyday.  But, the last month was rough, only because Lexie is SO ready to get out to the Mission Field.  She's been like a caged tiger, but in a good way.  I'm so glad she's excited and raring to go.  But, for me, it's definitely bittersweet.  Lots of happy/sad tears.  It's so hard to reconcile, for now, that I could not be more proud of what she's doing or happier for her and where she's headed, but, as a mom, it sure is a tough thing.

She will be in the Mexico Mission Training Center for about 6 weeks, where she will study the Spanish language and learn the Gospel Lessons.  She is so glad to be going.

I know that each day will get better, for her and me:)  haha ...and I look so forward to hearing about her Mission Adventures.  And that's how Lexie likes to look at all her events in life; Here's to your next Adventure, Sister Underly!  See you in 18 months!

f
Lexie has a great love and appreciation for beautiful skies..she had to take a picture of this sky on the way to the airport this morning.

Lexie and her mini-me.

Lexie is a great example for her little brother, Sam, who plans on going on a mission also someday.

I've already been crying since...well, off and on, for a few days.  Can't even tell I have makeup on:)

My cute missionary!

Typical....had to get this shot in:)

Final hugs...Sam

Dad gives good hugs...

Sophie is a great hugger, too.

I can't even believe I'm hugging her for the last time for 18 months...wow.  Very hard to let go.

As you can see by the look on Lexie's face, she is READY to get going :)  That makes me happy:)

And the tears from me started again...Wow...lots of emotions

Open House and Farewell to Sister Underly!

We had Lexie's farewell Open House at Lexie's great friend, and former Young Women's leader's home, Ally Black.   We have definitely been blessed to acquire such great friends over the past 12 years of living here.  Lexie was so touched by all who came to wish her well.  It was such a great night.
GoodBye, Alicia!
