Week 78-Hermana Lexie Underly signing off-God Be With You TIl We Meet Again, Reno-Great 18 months

Familia y amigos!

First off I just wanted to thank you for all your support these last 18 months. Honestly I have no words to describe how I feel right now. All I feel is an immense amount of gratitude for my Savior Jesus Christ.
This was one of the greatest weeks and one of the most difficult weeks for multiple reasons.
We experienced some of the most magnificent miracles! Someone found my Libro de Mormon in the street...haha and then some man found it and gave it to a member of the branch because he knew she was a member. Way neat moment! Miracles do happen.

We had a member come out with us this week for a whole day! The Fisk family is the best! They are a member family we just met but I just adore them all! It was just miracle after miracle! We met this new investigator John.so beyond powerful. He just moved to Reno from Florida a couple weeks before we met him. He prayed for the first time in 7 years and was crying and told us that he needs this right now.  Intense.

Evelyn is progressing a ton! She is reading and really is coming to a greater understanding of her relationship with God! It was awesome to hear her talk about the Plan of Salvation and how it applies to her. Man the gospel is true!

We saw this license plate this week that said, "Happiness is knowing Christ" That made my heart super happy. I know that that is true.

Saturday Hna daniels was sick the whole entire day. I did a lot of reflecting. We had a Sociedad de Soccoro activity and our sweet sweet investigator who is like 70 years old and the most darling lady ever came! Her name is Graciela!

We also went to a "Why I Believe fireside" and sang I stand all amazed. Let's just say that the spirit really takes over.

I sure am going to miss Hna Daniels too much. I love her lots and she will do great things in the rmaa sierra!!

I know without a doubt that this is the true church! It is the Church of Jesus Christ

See you in 2...days.

Week 77-last full week with Hermana Lexie Underly-Allelujah!

My beloved brothers and sisters :)

I just want to express my love to you and thank you for everything! I hope you had a great week! I also hope y'all were able to serve someone in need.

Monday we did splits with some members in the branch. Hermana Daniels visited a new family of 5 that we found and then I went with Kayla to visit Evelyn and her family! It was superb.

Tuesday we received some radical trainings from the leaders of the mission. Secret: we made dinner for the Chesnuts that night. Our mission president literally worries constantly for us and has countless sleepless night and does so much. He has so much love for the mission, the missionaries, and most of all The Savior. I have grown a deep love for the leaders of the church and following their counsel.

We pushed some lady's car that broke down in the middle of the street. Some random guy helped us and asked why 2 girls in skirts were pushing a car down the street. haha nobody else would get out and help so.

We have been wanting to work with the members more and more and it actually has been sweet! We are also finding more and more families so that has been pretty neat.

Honestly this was a super difficult week. All of our investigators are losing hope and want to give up. As Hermana Daniels and I were talking about that I said to her, "Just because everyone else is losing hope doesn't mean that we should too." Right then we received a call from one of our investigators and they said they were at the church! We drove over and did a church tour with them that was super powerful! Wow the Spirit totally guided and directed us throughout the whole thing. MIRACLE.

Also we went out to lunch with Sam! From Carson. She is doing amazing and is attending the temple on the monthly! She is a rockstar!

"Our nature can change almost immediately as we come to understand true doctrine"

I love y'all too much

Until next week

Week 76-With Hermana Lexie Underly - Time is short, and we are busy:)

Hola amigos y familia!

I have just about zero time today but I really just wanted to express my love for you! Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do!

This week I learned a very important lesson on service and the importance of service. I think what I learned most is that we should always be willing to lend a hand and be ready to offer what we can to help those around us. I hope that all of us can look for those opportunities to serve...whether in big ways or small ways. As we do serve we become more like the Savior. All He did was serve others. Let us lift those who are down trodden from the things of the world. Let us strive to follow in the footsteps of the Savior and be as he would be and do as He would do.

Let us always be willing to help a son or daughter of God who is in need.
In Mosiah 18 in the Book of Mormon we read how we are to bear one another's burdens that they may be light and mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort. Isn't that what the Savior himself taught? Isn't that what His gospel is all about? Don't we long to become like our Heavenly Father and our Savior?

We had an amazing MLC this week!!  Some questions to ponder: How pure is my love? How can I leave the situation better than it was before? How can I improve my relationship with God through prayer?

We are teaching this girl-Evelyn (17). She is friends with this family in our ward! She has such great desires to know more about the Gospel and has lots of questions. It is so cool to see how the Spirit works with everyone. She really is understanding more and more of the plan that Heavenly Father has for her specifically and how she can return to live with Him again.

I love this gospel with all my heart. It softens hearts and changes lives. And it is true. I know it.

"All people are best helped as they accept and LIVE the gospel". Preach My Gospel

Until next week

Week 75 with Hermana Lexie Underly -

My Companion-Hermana Daniels

Going out on exchanges with Hermana Davila (Cassie's MTC Comp)

fellow friends and family!

Life is good here in the Rama Sierra! Things are moving right along. Hermana Daniels and I got to play some tennis on Monday and that was basically heaven. She plays on BYU Hawaii so she pretty much rocks.

We had zone conference this past week....my last one. I got to sit by my current comp and my old comp- Sister Wilkins. It was her last zone conference too. So that was pretty neat. Hermana Daniels and I trained on having 20 seconds of courage to talk with everyone. We also received a ton of other more amazing trainings on teaching repentance and baptizing converts. I just adore President and his sweet wife.
We also went on exchanges this week and I was with Hermana Davila! (My actual hermanas mtc comp!)

Miracle: We went to in n out for lunch and this member paid for us! #tooblessed

I am especially grateful for this week because when we talk to everyone we get to have pretty interesting conversations and I actually get a lot out of them.  I think it is pretty neat to learn from others and hear what they have to say.

I was reading the fourth missionary talk this week and absolutely loved this quote:
"Do you see that only in losing yourself, may you find yourself; only by enriching others, may you be enriched; only by giving, may you receive, only in surrendering, may you become FREE?"  -The 4th Missionary
I know that the gospel is true.
I love ya'll with all my corazon. :)

Week 74- Adventures with Hermana Lexie Underly-Now Let Us Rejoice!

sidenote: Lexie's mom received the following personal message from Lexie today:
"I hope you are doing great!!! I miss you but not like a lot that sounds bad haha I just mean I love it out here"  Lexie's mom gets it and even loves Lexie for it:)

My beloved friends and family! I hope ya'll had a great week!

'Twas an excellent week here in the Rama Sierra! Hermana Daniels and I have had some of the best experiences together!

I think the highlight of our week was walking with 9 children - investigators - to mutual (the young men's/young women's group at church. That was pure bliss. That was the biggest group the branch has ever had at mutual so they loved that. I love the example that I have seen from the children I have met on my mission and how Christ teaches us to become as little children. It was super fun!

We also met with Omar who is really incredible. I think the most wonderful thing I have been able to see is how the Atonement works. People really can change. Christ makes it possible for us to be healed and cleansed and begin anew no matter how far and hard we have fallen.

We also had great lessons with the Reyes family. All the kids are reading in the Book of Mormon and love it! They teach each other how to pray and that has been magnificent to watch.

We went out with Hermana Martinez. She is the RS (Relief Society-Women's organization at church) President and a convert and so faithful! It was most amazing watching her testify and share scriptures so powerfully.
We also participated in a mini mission! We had 2 girls come out with us and so we split up and conquered. They did not speak spanish so that was super fun! We also went to a baptism and got to speak at it for an Hermana that got baptized in the branch! That was pretty neat!

Sunday Natalie and Luis (Reyes family kids) came to church!!! pretty much a miracle that they came.

Wow I think the greatest thing that we have been able to do is REJOICE in the gospel. Literally the gospel brings ALL our happiness. This week we read in the Book of Mormon (my fave book):
26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

How beautiful that we can rejoice in Jesus Christ and His perfect and pure gospel that has been restored! It is such a blessing that we are able to share it with all!

I love ya'll so much! Have a splendid week!

Week 73 with Hermana Lexie Underly-Testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel

Sister Underly's Testimony This Week:

Both Christ and the Book of Mormon presided in a stone vault.
Both were taken care of by a Joseph.
Both teach the word, Christ is the word.
Both were presented by an angel.
Both could not be touched for a time.
BOM is cornerstone, Christ is keystone.
Both have 12 witnesses.
Both preceded by an Apostasy.
Both introduce the fullness of the gospel.
Both were accompanied by the spilling of human blood.

I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon that we have to read to learn more of him. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know this is Christ's church.
One more quick quote "Without revelation, all would be guesswork, darkness, and confusion."

Hi mom so things are super amazing fantastic and wonderful!!

What didn't happen this week?

I am with Hermana Daniels and she is the coolest and most down to earth gal you will ever meet. She is from Ogden Utah and plays tennis at BYU Hawaii so basically she rocks. She is totally a ball of fire. We are sprinting here together in Reno. Reno is BEAUTIFUL. yes it really is. We are seeing miracles left and right and up and down and all around.

We found this family and we had our first lesson with them and they all accepted to be baptized! I have already fallen in love with them. We also had MLC this week. INSPIRING. SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING. wow I am so grateful to be in the best mission in the world. "I have learned to love brown dirt"

Jonathan bore his testimony in sacrament yesterday and his mom was crying! It was incredible!

I have no time so I will just leave off with one more thing: Why do we obey? I hope that we can all obey out of pure love for our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. Let us love God, ourselves, and our neighbor.

I love ya'll so much.

Week 72-with Hermana Lexie Underly-the beginning of the end:)

Howdy folks - friends and family!

Where do I even start? We had a lot of weird days this week...good but weird.

Monday we did a "Reno's got talent" with our zone! It is pretty hilarious when you put talent and missionaries in the same room. You get elders dancing to popcorn popping with glowsticks and attempted british accents. You could say it was a good time.

We went over to Jonathan's home that evening and had one of the most powerful lessons. we discussed 1 Nephi 8 and how we always need to cling to the iron rod and NEVER let go. He is such a strong kid with an immense amount of faith. The rest of the evening was a little on the strange side but in the end it all turned out fine.

Also this week we volunteered at a food bank which was fun! We went to Red Lobster with an Hermano from the church. He is so sweet.

We saw a ton of miracles and literally talked with everyone in the street!

We had a super powerful lesson with Irma one of our newer investigators. She is incredible and loves her Savior Jesus Christ. She calls us her hijas. She has my heart

There was a child of record baptism that we got to help out with. That was fun.

Sunday there was a legit snowstorm. #texasprobs So no one came to church. haha good times
Alberto - convert of a week - spoke at the "Why I Believe" fireside and ROCKED it. He told his story and he even quoted multiple scriptures from the Book of Mormon!

So I will be staying in Reno and Hermana Daniels will be an STL with me!! I am super pumped to be with her. She is a rockstar missionary!! She gets to "kill" me. yikes.

THE GOSPEL IS TRUE
SHALL WE NOT GO ON IS SO GREAT A CAUSE?
