Week 54-I'm Loving It! Adventures with Sister Underly

We've worn these shoes the whole mission...

hope ya'lls week was fantastic!!

Sister Wilkins and I will be staying together another transfer! YAY It is so weird to think that we will be starting our 10th transfer in the mission!! What?

Monday we had a zone activity at the park and played some sand volleyball and soccer and then visited with Shelby and then had Home Evening with the Bishop and his family and Adriana and Denise! It is so great to feel the spirit and to have the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation (Happiness).

Tuesday we had district meeting and then did exchanges with the Spanish Hermanas!!! I was with Sister Stott (my grandbaby) for the day in the spanish area! I loved it to say the least. We taught some great investigators that Sister Wilkins and I met a couple weeks ago and handed them to the Hermanas! They are set to be baptized in a couple weeks! They are so prepared! I am so thankful for the gospel and the opportunity I have to share it everyday!

Wednesday we switched back and then taught some lessons. haha Sister Wilkins and I had pizza like 6 times this past week and it's totally fine because we are always craving pizza!

Thursday we had this super cute young woman come out with us to lessons! She was the same one that came out with me when I was in Tahoe! Way neat! Shelby had her interview to be baptized! She passed with flying colors!

Friday was such a great day filled with happiness and joy and the Spirit! Shelby was baptized! It has truly been miraculous to see the change within Shelby and the light that she has in her eyes! It was way neat because Denise and Adriana and Samantha came to the baptism!! They were just baptized a couple months before! Ah it was awesome! We had dinner after with Shelby and with Sister Cook, an older lady that lives in the ward.  Shelby was just beaming!

Saturday we went to the Women's Conference with Shelby and some other sisters to the church! President Uchtdorf never ceases to amaze me. We, daughters of our Heavenly Father, have a divine nature and worth within us. I am so grateful for a living Prophet. Heavenly Father will forever love us. I know that to be true. He will never stop loving us. He will always send guidance to us.

Sunday Shelby was confirmed and I had her write down her thoughts. "I feel at peace. Happy and Hopeful that I can keep my faith through the Holy Ghost. I am going to keep praying and reading and I know the Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ will always be with me through every tribulation that comes forth. I am at peace and I feel a comfort feeling inside me".
I know this gospel is true. I know that the gospel blesses lives as we live it!!!

Week 53: Loving the Mission with Sister Underly

HI friends and family!

I hope ya'll had a great week! Wow missions are just so special let me tell ya. I love it out here in the best mission ever!

Thanks family for the wonderful yellow care package! It filled my soul with joy and sunshine!

Monday we had such a great Home Evening with our Bishop and his family and with Adriana and Denise! They shared their conversion stories and the Spirit was so strong. Our Bishop also shared his conversion story! It was incredible hearing their testimonies.

Tuesday we had a great District meeting by Elder Hults. It was on teaching the commandments. You know, Heavenly Father gives us commandments not to just to restrict us or just to have rules to make us miserable, but to truly free us, liberate us, and lift those burdens of guilt and shame from us. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has provided us with these commandments that we may be blessed! We continued about our day teaching some lessons. We had dinner with Adriana and Denise! Then had some great lessons with Shelby and the Texeira family! Shelby told us that she read 1 Nephi and 1 Nephi in the Book of Mormon! And that she could not wait to read Alma!

Wednesday was a great day full of miracles! We had Denise come out with us to a lesson with Shelby and we discussed the importance of prayer! It was awesome hearing Denise testify after only being a member for 2 months! Then we had a great lesson with Janet (14 years old). We had 2 youth from young men come out with us and we taught the Restoration! It is always so powerful to hear the testimonies of the youth!

Thursday we planned! Also, 1 year mark in the mission! I honestly cannot believe how much time is warped here on the mission. I feel that I just got out here and that I have been doing this for a long time! I am so glad that I have this opportunity to serve The Lord.

Friday was great! We had Grandpa come out with us to some lessons and then had a ton of members come out with us for the rest of the day! We met with Samantha too! She went to the Temple again with the youth this time and LOVED it! I am so grateful for temples and the blessings that they provide!

Saturday was way cool! So there was this guy that got home from his mission 3 weeks ago....FROM UGANDA. He had met a family here in Carson City that was straight from Uganda. It was crazy because we did not find out that this guy spoke the language from their tribe back in Uganda. So yeah we taught them and the accepted the message that we shared with them!

One of our investigators sang in the choir at the adult session! We did not go but we heard that it was awesome!

Sunday we had Stake Conference! We sat with our investigators! It was such a great stake conference! The RM spoke and he bore his testimony with such power in the language luganda! It was way neat! We also had Elder Greer speak and he told me he was just in the Frisco Stake! Ah a piece of my home!

I love ya'll

Week 52-AHHHHHH Yeah!-Whirlwind week with Sister Underly

These pix cracked me up - goobers!(Lexie's mom)

Hello family and friends!!

This week was a whirlwind! It was great! I love having this opportunity to share the gospel! It is actually the greatest thing ever. Sister Wilkins is amazing!

y- Virginia City which was a blast! Then we had such great lessons that night with Shelby and a recent convert named Fred who is older. I loved the way that he described the sacrament. I am grateful for the sacrament and the cleansing and healing power of the Atonement.Tuesda

y- We had zone training. Sister Wilkins and I gave a training on Following the impressions of the Spirit. It was really fun! I love our zone and the spirit that we get to feel each day as representatives of Jesus Christ.Wednesday

- We had Zone Conference. That was incredible! We received some great trainings about the Christlike attributes and the Book of Mormon. After Zone conference, I even got to use some spanish with some people at the park! (I was overjoyed)

- We planned. We visited with Shelby and some less actives. We watched the Finding Faith in Christ. It is so powerful each time we watch it. Then we did exchanges with the Dayton Sisters.

- I spent the day with Sister Beh who is just awesome!!! She is 8 weeks into her mission and training! There are 15 kids in her family! She is a convert of 3 years! We talked with everyone. We did not let a single person pass us without talking to them. We had a blast. There were wild horses in the neighborhood on peoples' lawns! It was crazy! They just walked across the street like it was no big deal. We saw so many miracles!!

- We had a ward "camp out" (breakfast) at a pavilion and basically had the best breakfast ever. Yum. We then taught this guy named Arthur! He is so hilarious and so great! Then we had studies. We then had lunch with some awesome members from Sparks where Sister Wilkins served. Then we watched the Restoration with Shelby! I know that Christ's church has been restored to the earth. I am grateful for the 14 year old boy who had a question and went to the ultimate source of truth in prayer. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers. He is the ultimate source of truth and light and happiness. Jim was baptized!

- Sunday was fantastic! We had this amazing lesson with Samantha. She basically taught us the Atonement. She
also went to the Temple this week and did baptisms for the dead!!! She loved it! She can't wait to go again! She has only been a member for a month! Ah I love her! She is practically my older sister!
well I love you all!! Thank you for everything!

Please keep Shelby in your prayers!!

les quiero!!!

Week 51-Living the Mission Dream with Sister Underly

LOVE exchanges!

(Sister Underly has not lost her awesome skill for making crazy expressions)
Hi friends and family!

Another week living the dream here in Carson! I honestly do not know where this week went! Time is just flying by! But it's cool because I still have a year left (okay in denial) (it's really only 6 months!!!!)

Monday we had a great lesson with Shelby! She is progressing super well! She is so excited to be baptized! It has been incredible seeing the change in her and the light that she has in her eyes! The gospel is true. We had Home Evening with the Bishop and his family and some recent converts. We talked about an article from the September 2015 Ensign.

Tuesday we had a District meeting by Elder Hults. I always feel so edified when we share what we learned in personal study. Then we had some great lessons to finish off our day! Sister Wilkins is the best! She is such a great teacher and loves working hard! Things are looking up.

Wednesday we had MLC. Longest but best meeting ever. We received some great trainings on how we can become better missionaries and teach more effectively and truly help our brothers and sisters come unto Christ.

Thursday we had great spirit filled lessons. Sister Powell who is an amazing member in our ward (she served a mission) came out with us to a lesson with Shelby. We had such a powerful lesson with her. She is someone who is just so in tune with the Spirit. I am so grateful for great members who are so willing to come out with us and share their testimony and light!

Friday was a crazy day! We were non stop teaching for like 7 hours straight. Then we had exchanges with the Hot Springs sisters: Sister Golding and Sister Haight (she is from Temple Square!) I was with Sister Haight and we had a blast! We had a full day of teaching and contacting and talking with everyone. It makes the work that much more fun when you just go up and start talking to everyone! We really get a kick out of it.

Saturday we taught Jim with Grandma. We helped Shelby fill out her family history and then did a church tour with one of our other investigators - Sarah (17). We had dinner at the cutest family's home! The husband served in Brazil. (like everyone else in my home stake!) I learned so much from Sister Haight. She can relate so well with people and asks such inspired questions. I am so grateful to go on exchanges more than once a transfer. It is probably because I need to learn the most.

Sunday was great as always. I feel like these are the most stressful days on the mission yet I am grateful for Sunday. I am so thankful for the Sabbath Day. I cannot picture my life without the Sabbath Day. I am grateful for the time that we get to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and all that He has done for us....for me.

The atonement is real and I have felt that in my life. I am so grateful to wear Jesus Christ over my heart and be His representative. And as His representative we get to share the Gospel (GOOD NEWS) about how Jesus Christ can heal us inside out and how we can come closer to Him in our lives.

I love this gospel. I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that the Priesthood authority has been restored to the earth once again. And that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth today. I know that the gospel brings true happiness and joy and bliss in a world that is falling and failing.

SHALL WE NOT GO ON IN SO GREAT A CAUSE?

Hasta for now!
