Week 64 Adventures with Hermana LEXIE Underly in RENO:) (this having 2 " Hermana Underly's" out in Nevada at the same time can be confusing:)

the LIGHT of Christ!

I hope you are all doing wonderful!

This is truly the greatest season! Full of joy and happiness and of course our Savior Jesus Christ.

Thursday we volunteered at the Bishop's Storehouse. I love being able to serve along side such giving and caring people. We planned and had a great lesson with Roberto who is going to be baptized this week! He is so prepared! We also taught this new family, Liliana and Faustino and their daughter. They are so interested in learning more and love the Book of Mormon. ALSO we went to Little Caesar's since we did not have a dinner and then this RM bought a pizza for us. He served his mission here in Reno in 2006-08! Way cool!

Friday we had our mission leadership meeting. Then we went on exchanges. I went to Sparks with the new sister Hermana Ramirez! She is from Mexico and is such a great missionary and teacher! We went to dinner at this member's home! She was from Puerto Rico and is a convert to the church! She seriously made the best food ever.
Saturday we went to Panda Express with a recent convert in the branch- Alfredo.

Something that Hermana Gatten and I love to do is sing Christmas songs to people! It brings such a great spirit!

Sunday we had stake conference and our Mission President, President Chesnut. He spoke on doing the will of the Father- our Father in Heaven and how Jesus Christ perfectly did the will of the Father. Sister Chesnut spoke on the sacrament and how it is the time to ponder and reflect on the life of the Savior and all he has done for us! A young woman bore her testmony and mentioned that one of her peers from school said, :You Mormons are always happy" Her response was perfect. "Yes, we are" That happiness comes from the knowledge of the Restored Gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ!

Then we got to watch the 1st Presidency Christmas Devotional! We absolutely LOVED the performance of the Mormon Tabernacle choir and the orchestra! I stand all amazed at the love Heavenly Father has for us - His children. I particularly loved David A. Bednar and Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talks. David A. Bednar mentioned the Book of Mormon and how it truly is another witness of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and the signs that occurred before his birth. The sign of the Savior's birth literally saved the lives of the people in Zarahemla! Christ is the light that shineth in darkness and dispels fear. He is the EVERLASTING light.

Dieter F. Uchtdorf discussed the message of the gospel and how it brings hope and optimism! This time of season we are able to see others with new eyes. Our Heavenly Father is "The Generous One" We must always express heartfelt gratitude, not take anything for granted, and count our blessings! HE IS THE GIFT GIVER. He frees us.

I know the gospel is true. I am grateful for this beautiful season to celebrate the birth of our Savior and Redeemer of the world. He is the light and the life of the world.
Love,

Hermana Underly
