Week 49-A wonderful and crazy and perfect and emotional week:)

Sweet Shelby in her Sunday Dress:)  and twinning with the companion:)

Samantha's baptism

Samantha's mom on the right....she said I look like Gwyneth Paltrow, so clearly she's my new favorite person, haha:)

This week was wonderful and crazy and perfect and full of mixed emotions! Monday was super sad because Sister Grandy packed like all day because she was getting transferred to Arizona (going home) and so I was not too joyful but that is okay. We had Samantha's baptism interview and it was so splendid. She literally lights up the room with her smile!

Tuesday we had to drop Sister Grandy in the morning. Sister Golding and Sister Haight and I went back to Carson and spent most of the day in Hot Springs area. We went to lunch. We had tons of miracles!! It is amazing to see how Heavenly Father places people in our path and how we are placed in other people's paths!
Also, Samantha was baptized! It was such an awesome baptism!

We got to surprise her!! We were supposed to go to transfers and we told Samantha that we would not be able to make it. However, we found out the night before that we would be able to go to her baptism! So we got in contact with a member of the bishopric and we totally planned on surprising her. It was fantastic!! We showed up before her baptism and she was ecstatic!! She had so much support and her family even came! I got to speak on Baptism! It is truly amazing how the Priesthood authority has been restored to the earth once again and how baptism truly is that gate to enter onto the path to return to live with our Heavenly Father again. It was such a great baptism. We had some primary kids sing "When I am Baptized" with us! ah I love the kids! Samantha cannot wait to get to the Temple and do baptisms and get married and sealed one day!! It is incredible the light that she has in her!

Wednesday I still did not have my new companion. :( So I was with Sister Golding and Sister Haight for the day. We went and visited with Shelby and Jim and a lot of great people that we are teaching! We had dinner with some members and then went to pick up my new companion in Sparks! Sister Wilkins!!! We have been out the same amount of time and she rocks! She is from Missouri and we went to BYU Idaho at the same time! We even had a class together and we did not even know it! She is super athletic and sporty and super sweet! I have already learned a ton from her! We had a lesson that night with one of our investigators named Alan at a members home. It was a total miracle!

Thursday we planned and planned and planned some more haha. This is really our first time being STLs haha It is a blast. We seriously saw so many miracles this week! Sister Wilkins got to meet a ton of the people we are teaching and get to know them.

Friday we did a couple hours of service for one of our less actives putting bricks down and making a path! (mom, real life skills!) It was really fun and super hot! Yeah I was sore the next day. We then visited Shelby and had a super good lesson on the 10 commandments. She is trying so hard to live the Word of Wisdom and make her baptism date! She is determined! We then saw Bob!! Miracle! He is a 90 year old investigator of ours who wants to be sealed to his wife who has passed on. He needs to come to church! He is so funny. He makes me laugh. It is amazing the love you have for people when you have nothing in common with them but the gospel truly brings us together!

Saturday we had a super cool member come out with us to a lesson. We went to a farmers market and met our investigators there. We got to talk to a ton of people! It was super great! We then brought another member out with us and we visited a lot of different people and no one was home! bummer! We did see miracles nonetheless! Yay! We love those small miracles! We then met at the church and Shelby received a Priesthood blessing. It was so powerful and the Spirit was so strong. She said she felt calm. It was awesome.

Sunday we had ward council. Jim and Dean and Angie came to church! Shelby also came to church! She told us that she has only worn a dress 2 times in her life: When she got married and when she graduated high school. She wore a dress to church AND stayed all 3 hours!! And she did not have coffee that morning so she was a little tired. But she came and she felt great! Of all the people that I have taught I have seen such a miraculous change in her. She told us that her life has been great since she has been meeting with us even with her trials that she faces!

The gospel literally changes lives! We also got to see Samantha confirmed a member of the church! She was just beaming! It was fantastic. We had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Sister Wilkins and I sang a bunch of Primary songs together (the best songs).

Something we learned in Relief Society yesterday:
"Enduring to the end is the test of true Discipleship" That is my hope and greatest desire. I would encourage all of you to endure to the end and enjoy to the end! It is amazing as we live the gospel we receive a peace in our heart and mind.

1. Don't forget to pray
2. Come unto Christ and be perfected in Him
3. Press forward with Faith
4. Book of Mormon is key to spiritual survival
5. Don't be distracted of deceived
6. STAY BY THE TREE
